2024 Success Spotlight: Strategic Priorities in Action
Expanding ÉQ Insights: Advanced Analytics for Proactive Fraud Detection
In 2024, ÉQ Insights underwent significant expansion, integrating new members and bolstering its analytical power. This continued evolution of the platform is enhancing our ability to proactively identify suspicious activities, enabling more effective investigations and fostering the development of sophisticated fraud behaviour profiles, risk scenarios, and countermeasures.
Significant Recoveries at the Ports: Another Record-Breaking Year
Our collaborative efforts with Canada Border Services Agency, Montréal Police, Saint John Police, and Halifax Regional Police yielded exceptional results at Canadian ports last year. We recovered over 1,900 stolen vehicles, an 11% increase from 2023, with an approximate value of $87 million.
Driving National Action on Auto Theft
Équité's technical expertise and strategic contributions were highly valued at the National Summit on Combatting Auto Theft, receiving overwhelming positive feedback, particularly from Public Safety Canada. The Summit proved to be a pivotal platform for shaping action plans, federal investments, and initiatives to address auto theft. Équité effectively reinforced the urgent need for robust measures against organized vehicle crime, ensuring our members' priorities were central in our testimony and ongoing consultations with Public Safety Canada and Transport Canada. These trusted relationships directly supported key industry recommendations adopted in the National Action Plan on Combatting Auto Theft.
As we reflect on the significant strides made in 2024, Équité remains steadfast in our commitment to combat insurance fraud and protect Canadians. Our continued success is a testament to the dedication of our team, the strength of our members and partnerships, and the trust placed in us by the P&C insurance industry. We look forward to building on this momentum in the years to come, further strengthening our collective defense against insurance crime.
