About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Applied Data & Intelligence Products, the Senior Data Analytics Developer is primarily responsible for designing and delivering scalable analytics datasets, reporting models, and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making across Équité. Sitting within the Applied Data & Intelligence Products team, this role focuses on hands-on analytics delivery, translating business requirements into well-structured reporting assets, optimized SQL, and Power BI solutions that serve a wide range of stakeholders.
The Senior Data Analytics Developer works closely with software development, data engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to align on database objects, stored procedures, access requirements, and production environment dependencies, while remaining focused on analytics and reporting delivery rather than infrastructure ownership or database administration. Within the first six months, success in this role will be demonstrated by the timely delivery of high-quality reporting assets aligned to priority business needs, improved reporting efficiency through automation, increased consistency and reliability of analytics outputs, and meaningful contributions to a library of reusable datasets that strengthen organizational decision-making.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Designing and delivering analytics datasets and reporting models optimized for read-heavy workloads and enterprise reporting use cases.
- Developing and optimizing SQL for large-scale reporting, including aggregations, dimensional modeling, and KPI logic, with a focus on efficient query patterns suitable for read-only sessions on read replicas.
- Building and maintaining dashboards and semantic layers in Power BI/Tableau, leveraging reader endpoints for scheduled refreshes and reporting workloads.
- Establishing “reporting-safe” access patterns and workload guardrails to prevent runaway analytical queries, including query performance tuning and monitoring of operational characteristics of read replicas.
- Partnering with software development, data engineering, security, and infrastructure teams on database objects, stored procedures, access provisioning, and production environment dependencies required to support reporting solutions.
- Developing reusable analytics assets, automated refresh processes, and streamlined reporting workflows that improve consistency, reliability, and efficiency across the organization.
- Engaging with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into practical analytics solutions, and clearly communicate insights, trade-offs, and delivery timelines.
- Contributing to the evolution of Équité’s analytics environment, supporting the development of standards, documentation, and best practices for reporting and dataset design.

- Hands-on Power BI experience delivering enterprise dashboards, semantic layers, and automated refresh solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into reliable, reusable reporting assets.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
