About the Role
The Assistant Director, reports to the Director, ÉQ Investigations & Eastern Canada providing comprehensive support to the ÉQ Investigations & Eastern Canada team. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Specific accountabilities include:
- Assist the Director, ÉQ Investigations & Eastern Canada in the file management, administration, training and employee supervision.
- Support Ontario and Quebec in investigations by Increasing efficiency and delivery internally, increasing usable intelligence shared with members;
- Responsible for Increasing focus on insurance fraud investigations primarily and referrals to regulators, as well as law enforcement.
- Effective communication and promotion of ÉQ Investigations, ÉQ Hub, software tool.
- Invest in building long-lasting relationships both externally and internally, including working relationships with partners to facilitate future and ongoing investigations
- Assist the Director in the SAAQ Database info sharing program.
- Vehicle Identification for law enforcement and member insurance companies.
- Identify and investigate organized auto theft rings.
- Provide expert vehicle examinations to police, insurance companies.
- Where required, provide detailed reports on theft recoveries for police and insurance companies.
- Provide expert witness testimony when required for police.
- Seize and maintain continuity of exhibits from cloned vehicles.
- Assist outside agencies with follow-up investigations related to stolen vehicles.
- Assist with auto theft related investigations which might include several categories.
- Investigate tips into fraud-related matters.
- Monitor stolen auto reports
- Provide data base queries for police and insurance investigators to assist with investigations.
- Attend court as Expert Witness in Vehicle Identification.
- Assist other agencies such as, CBSA, Police department, TRANSPORT CANADA, SAAQ and Members Insurer
- Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English/French is mandatory 10+ prior experience in the P&C insurance industry, fraud financial services and/or insurance claims handling or fraud investigation within the Canadian P&C industry.
- Ability to quickly learn and work independently across multiple IT platforms to source, identify and maintain information.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with members, partners, and management.
- Fraud analysis and data intelligence experience is an asset.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to handle competing deadlines and deliverables.
- Highest degree of personal integrity and ethic with a positive, motivated and member-focused attitude.
- An understanding of the insurance industry, insurance claims investigations, and the entire insurance process.
- Knowledge of Carfax, Auto Plus, ISO, and how these applications can assist in the investigation of auto theft related crimes.
- Comfortable and excels within remote work.
